PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Prince George County man was sentenced to over a decade in prison for possessing meth with the intent to distribute. On Thursday, April 10, 39-year-old Robert Damian Atkins was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. On April 1, 2024, law enforcement searched the residence of Atkins based on prior controlled purchases of narcotics, according to court documents.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Several Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) buses will experience temporary detours and potential delays in Richmond on Saturday due to the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k. On Saturday, April 12, detours for several GRTC buses will be in effect from 5 a.m. until around 3:30 p.m. due to road closures for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k. According to a spokesperson for GRTC, routes 14, 19, 20, 50, 76, 77, 78 and the Pulse Bus Rapid Transit will operate with modified service.

According to Powhatan County Public Schools, students working under Ms. Phyllis Bullock Eppes’ supervision will offer free income tax preparation to individuals and families with a household income of less than $60,000 a year from 9 a.m. to noon on April 12, 19 and 26 at Powhatan High School.
