THE first hour of our stay at Copenhagen’s 25hours Hotel Indre By was spent hunting for a bottle of bubbles. Let me explain, we had entered this stunning hotel in the centre of the Danish capital to be met by two lifesize Pterodactyls “flying” in the atrium above the welcome bar. We then walked past the love room, with its comfy couches and a roaring open fire, opposite the vinyl studio where you can spin just about every album we had grown up listening to during the 80s.

A HARD-hitting new campaign encourages Scots to openly talk about suicide, to help save a life. It features four people who have been bereaved, attempted or actively considered suicide. The campaign asks just one a simple question: “What if a conversation about suicide could save a life?” and is launched with a new website SuicidePrevention.scot from April 16. We speal to one of those featured in the new promo who believes that talking about suicide is the best way to prevent it from happening.

THE Scottish Government announced that its plans to fast-track a ban on gas boilers have been put on the backburner. SNP ministers wanted rules that would have forced more than a million Scots to rip out their existing gas systems to install eco-friendly devices like heat pumps by the end of the decade. But now Acting Net Zero and Energy Secretary Gillian Martin says she's not going to push ahead with the plan until she knows it can cut fuel poverty and decarbonise homes.
