CUPERTINO, Ca. (KCBS RADIO) - A small airplane made an emergency landing Monday morning resulting in minor injuries for a related motor vehicle crash in Cupertino. Peterson Conway took off from his Carmel farm at 6 a.m. heading for Silicon Valley - his every-other-day commute. He started having engine trouble and called in a mayday to the Palo Alto airport and considered landing in a football field.

OAKLAND, Ca. (KCBS RADIO) - The Oakland City Council is considering where it needs to make cuts amid a multi-million dollar budget shortfall. In a Tuesday meeting, the city's budget administrator, Bradley Johnson, told the city council Oakland is providing more services than it can afford to provide. "That is the factual statement of where we are as an organization," Johnson explained to the council.

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) - Thursday marks the 35th anniversary of the Loma Prieta Earthquake - the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the Bay Area. The San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A's were preparing to play game 3 of the World Series at Candlestick Park when the massive earthquake struck. The shaking lasted for at least 20 seconds and caused massive damage to roads, bridges and claimed dozens of lives.

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) - A Tesla slammed into an apartment building in Fremont Monday evening, killing one. The crash happened just before 6 p.m. on Old Warm Springs Road - near the Fremont BART station. Fremont police said the car burst into flames on impact with a vacant first-floor commercial storefront of the apartment building. Police evacuated the building while fire crews battled the flames. The fire was put out in about 20 minutes.
