Berkeley City Council may decide to open and subsidize a permanent space for the Telegraph Chess Club at its Tuesday meeting, almost two weeks after its initial closure. Proposed legislation would direct the city to open the “Dwight Triangle,” a closed median at the intersection of Dwight Way and Telegraph Avenue, for public use and peaceful gathering, including to play chess.
