KENDALLVILLE — The winner of May 25's Indianapolis 500 got the traditional bottle of milk to drink — provided by a Kendallville woman. Abbie Herr, of Herr Dairy Farm, presented the milk to the victorious driver, Alex Palou, in the Winner’s Circle at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. She was selected for the honor by the American Dairy Association of Indiana. “It’s super fun to be a part of it,” Herr said ahead of the race.

ALBION — The treasurer of the Noble County Community Fair Corp. was arrested Friday on a charge she stole upwards of $367,000 from the organization. Robin L. Laymon, 46, of the 400 block of North Main Street, Hudson, was booked into the Noble County Jail on a charge of theft, a Level 5 felony.

ALBION — Voters is the Central Noble school district said a solid "no" to a request for an operation funding referendum Tuesday. In voting tabulated Tuesday, 55.3% of the voters — 704 — were against the referendum. Support for the referendum totaled 569 ballots cast, 44.7%. It was the only election to be held this year in Noble County. The referendum called for an additional $0.19 per $100 of assessed valuation for a property owner.
