Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday unveiled a $10 million fund to support private building renovations and development in East Side neighborhood business districts. “My administration is continuing its commitment to help East Buffalo’s business property owners with the often-hard job of upgrading their buildings, which will in turn make our business districts more attractive, inviting and able to better serve Buffalo neighborhoods,” Hochul said.
NBT Bank sees growth opportunities from Evans Bank deal

Now that its acquisition of Evans Bank is complete, NBT Bank is sizing up its growth opportunities in the Buffalo and Rochester markets. Here's what Evans Bank customers need to know as their accounts switch to NBT

Evans Bank's orange logo is about to sunset. NBT Bank is completing its all-stock acquisition of Evans, a deal valued at $236 million. Over the weekend, Evans' branches and systems will be converted to NBT's. Evans' branches will close for business at noon Friday. They will reopen Monday for their regular business hours, under NBT's red and blue banner. Access to Evans’ online banking will be available until 4 p.m. Friday. Customers will be able to begin using NBT’s digital banking at midday Monday.

Business groups, including the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, are reminding New York state's congressional delegation that they remain ardent fans of the CHIPS and Science Act.
