(WCTV) - A vigil is expected to take place Thursday evening in remembrance of 5-year-old Missy Mogle, a Tallahassee girl who died last week after being found unresponsive in her home.     TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - More than a year later, there are still no answers from the City of Tallahassee regarding what happened to over $1 million paid to a scam vendor. Last year in March, City Commissioner Curtis Richardson said the scammer was an entity or person posing as a vendor for the city. Alison Faris, a city spokesperson, said Wednesday that the investigation remains ongoing. “This is an open and active case that remains under investigation by authorities,” said Faris.

    TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Leon County Commission is considering raising fees for firefighting and waste management services at a special meeting on Tuesday. Fire services would increase by about 22-percent for those in unincorporated Leon County, while the “solid waste assessment” could increase anywhere from $40 to $94 annually next year, depending on if the commission increases rates all at once or over a gradual period.

    TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Leon County awarded a $2.6 million contract to fix its Visitor Information Center, which previously served as an Amtrak station in the capital city. The center was severely damaged after a trio of tornadoes tore through the local area last May. County Commissioner Rick Minor said staff will move back into the building once repairs are complete and he maintains a long-term goal of restoring passenger rail to Tallahassee.
