TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray News) - Florida authorities say a 20-year-old opened fire Thursday at Florida State University, killing two people and wounding at least six others. The university shared an alert at 12:01 p.m. reporting an “active shooter” in the area of the Student Union. The Associated Press reported just before 2 p.m. that the suspected gunman, later identified as FSU student Phoenix Ikner, was wounded after not following commands and taken into police custody.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/AP) - Two people have died and multiple others are hospitalized after a shooter opened fire Thursday on Florida State University’s campus, officials said. In a press conference Thursday afternoon, local officials shared that six additional people are hospitalized and the shooter is also hospitalized. Authorities identified the suspected shooter as 20-year-old FSU student Phoenix Ikner. The deceased are not students, according to FSU Police.
