Today is Fat Tuesday so go ahead and indulge (as if we needed another reason to eat the good stuff, right?)Carnival actually began back in January. January 6th (known as Epiphany or Three Kings Day) is the start and the celebration concludes with Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is a day for all things indulgent. Extravagant feasts, parades, cakes, and partying are encouraged the Tuesday before Lent begins.

In March of 1986 I was a full-time chore boy by day and club disc jockey at night. I would get my big break at WRCO in August. During the first half of the year, I was paying the bills (mostly for new music at the Music Shop in Richland Center) by forking manure, carrying milk, and slopping the hogs. After nighttime chores a few nights per week I would switch from mild mannered farm boy to green behind the ears instant party guy (forgot to wash off all the cow crap).

The Hmong New Year Celebration is this weekend and everyone is invited! Historically, welcoming the new year is the largest community event and celebration for Hmong people.

MILWAUKEE, Wis (WAUK) — A suspicious package delivered to the Milwaukee Election Commission on Friday was found to contain no hazardous materials. The package prompted a 911 call around 9 a.m. and led to a partial evacuation of City Hall. The package will undergo further testing. Election officials were quickly able to resume thier post-election work.

The idea of going home may seem simple. But for young service members stationed around the globe, the costs can be prohibitive. Enter Larry Jackson. He started the Ben Jackson Foundation to award military members a “ticket home.” His heartfelt mission is inspired by his son. Ben passed away following an accident while serving overseas. He had just been home a few weeks earlier. But his dad had to help him purchase his ticket home.

WISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Incumbent Republican Julian Bradley has been called the winner of the race for the 28th Senate District in Wisconsin. The Associated Press made the call Tuesday evening. The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered solid Republican with a projected margin of 23 points. Bradley, who was first elected to the Senate in 2020, is on seven committees, chairing two of them.

The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered solid Republican with a projected margin of 37 points. Piwowarczyk is the co-owner of Wisconsin Right Now, a right-wing news site.
