MADISON, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) will serve over three million meals to kids this summer through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). A news release from the Wisconsin DPI describes the SFSP as an initiative that provides healthy, free meals to children and teens in low-income areas. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and it’s an extension of the National School Lunch Program.

Senator Johnson commented that illnesses in kids can be attended to with better hygiene and sanitation, not just with vaccines. Children are currently required to receive vaccinations under state law.
