The Karen Read trial is back in court on Wednesday, a day after proceedings were unexpectedly canceled just before testimony was scheduled to begin for the day because Read was sick. A young girl was seriously hurt Tuesday afternoon when they were hit with a falling tree branch at the Franklin Park Zoo. It happened around 12:45 p.m. in the area of the Farmhouse Café at the zoo. Massachusetts State Police said the child, who was only described as "school-aged," was taken to Boston Children's Hospital by ambulance. A parent who was at the zoo Tuesday told WBZ-TV that she heard the sound of the branch snapping.

The Karen Read trial will not be happening on Tuesday as originally scheduled due to "unavoidable circumstances," a court spokesperson said. The 15th day of witness testimony was scheduled to take place inside Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham at 9 a.m. About 20 minutes before the scheduled start of the proceedings, court spokesperson Jennifer Donahue announced the cancellation. Donahue did not release any additional details.

Roger Daltrey of The Who: Rock legend, cancer warrior The Who, the legendary rock duo of Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, is coming to Boston's iconic Fenway Park as part of what the band said is its final North American tour. On Thursday, The Who announced details of its 16-show "The Song is Over" tour. The band will play at Fenway Park in Boston on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Tickets will go on sale May 13 with a presale through The Who Fan Club.
