The president signed the CR the next day. The CR keeps the government open until September. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will temporarily register new commercial fishing licenses and renew old ones at field offices around South Louisiana, officials announced Tuesday. Less than three weeks before Louisiana voters are set to decide on four amendments to the state constitution, another lawsuit has been filed seeking to remove some of them from the ballot. Voice of the Experienced, a statewide advocacy group, filed the lawsuit on behalf of four residents from East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Orleans and Tangipahoa parishes. It argues Amendments 1 and Amendments 3 are unconstitutional and should not appear on the ballot.
