SAN ANTONIO – Alexis Tovar said her mother’s death still hasn’t sunk in nearly two years later. “I can’t even process it,” Tovar said. “I’m gonna fight for her for as long as I’m here.” Tovar’s mother was Melissa Perez. Perez was shot and killed during a mental health crisis in June 2023. Three ex-officers with the San Antonio Police Department were charged in her death, but the case hasn’t had much movement in court.

BERGHEIM, Texas – For the last 49 years, Joe and Donna Agruso have stayed together side by side, and they can’t imagine it any other way. “He’s my rock,” Donna said. “We’ve been through a lot.” Eight years ago, Joe Agruso was diagnosed with cancer. After doctors removed a sarcoma from his leg, he started to lose his mobility. Now, he depends on his motorized wheelchair and an electric chair lift. But just last week, the lift broke. “I was like, ‘what are we going to do?‘” Donna Agruso said.

CIBOLO, Texas – The Cibolo Police Department is urging residents to be on alert after a string of mailbox thefts and vandalism over the last week. At least 17 mailboxes were targeted in two separate incidents, authorities said. Cibolo police are requesting public assistance to identify the people responsible. The first incident occurred on March 19, when seven mailboxes were damaged. The following incidents happened on March 21 and March 22, police said.
