Macclesfield's popular comic art festival is just days away. Macc-Pow returns for its 10th anniversary next week. It promises to be bigger and better than ever, with venues all over Silktown getting involved in this year's festivities. A new restaurant has brought the taste of Kerala to Macclesfield. Amazing India officially opened on Pickford Street last night, with the mayor on hand to cut the ribbon. Owner Joby Joy is excited for the journey ahead, having spared no expense in transforming the venue. He said: "We are not just any Indian restaurant where you go to eat food, we have a good vibe here. "This is a place to create memories. "We have made some massive changes and it's looking really lovely now.

Pet owners are being warned to take care ahead of a weekend heatwave. Wright & Morten Vets have urged dog walkers in Macclesfield to be 'pro-active' to keep their furry friends safe in the sun. It comes as temperatures are set to rise as high as 29 degrees on Friday and Saturday (June 20 and 21).
