Spring Sunday will take place later this month (Image: Newsquest) One of the last events at The Forum before its two-year closure will be a free celebration for the public. The annual Silver Sunday event has been rebranded into Spring Sunday, which will take place on April 27 from 11am until 3pm. The facilities at the theatre are being kept open until May 12 before Barrow Town Hall takes over the hosting of events and shows in the area.

Maya Maya, owned by Amanda Slattery, last welcomed customers into its bricks-and-mortar shop in March this year, bringing an end to two decades of service.

Marc McCabe, who spearheads Simon Rogan's Henrock restaurant in Windermere, made it to the finals of the hit BBC Two show. Celebrating the show’s 20th anniversary, the latest series saw talented chefs from across the country tasked with creating a menu celebrating Great Britons of the past for a banquet at the historic Blenheim Palace.

2 1/1 A group of workers from BAE Systems gave up their free time during a weekend to support a charity in Ulverston. The volunteers - Jamie Williams, Amy Shane, Lisa Pilton, Sally Andrews, Kelley Atherton, and Amie Small - helped to clean up one of St Mary's Hospice's outdoor areas. A spokesperson from the hospice explained how the work, including cleaning the terrace's canopy and cladding planters, has made 'such a difference'.
