Clyde sophomore pitcher Taitum Jeffrey was recognized outstanding performer in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division. Fliers senior catcher Kennedi Long, junior infielders Vanessa West and Mya Stiefel, senior outfielder Ella Howey and freshman outfielder Ariah Farrar were first-team. Freshman infielder Ember Andres was honorable mention. Bellevue senior infielder Tessa Blankenship and senior outfielder Payton Hicks were first-team.

Though, the 400-meter run in track, comparatively speaking, is not a long race, it might be the most difficult. But the distance happens to be the perfect endeavor for Clyde senior Damarius Chrisman. A year ago, he established a program record in the event at 48.17 seconds to finish first at the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division meet as a junior. Last week, he won the 400 (48.76) and was part of the first-place 4x200 relay at the Division II district meet at Oak Harbor.

CLYDE - Many people don't know there are several different methods to hit the ball. Gibsonburg senior Ansley Fleming can hit from both sides of the plate, slap, drag, deaden, pull the ball all over the diamond and maybe bunt. She tripled with the bases loaded, walked twice and scored four runs Tuesday as the Golden Bears beat Margaretta 19-0 in five innings in a Division VI district semifinal.
Oak Harbor's Hannah Schimmoeller was afraid; she needn't have been

Hannah Schimmoeller spent much of the last two years trying to get back to being Hannah Schimmoeller. The Oak Harbor senior finally felt like herself again in April. With a home run in three consecutive games, she's never been better than she's been in May, a good time for flowers. After an outstanding sophomore season when she batted .396, drove in 32 runs and scored 38, Schimmoeller tore her labrum in the fall and missed her junior season following shoulder surgery.
