TOPEKA (KSNT) – Recently celebrating their two year anniversary with the Capper Foundation, Dialogue Coffee House now has five locations open across Shawnee County. The coffee house recently expanded into Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas and the Stormont Vail Administration Center. Within the past month an improved kitchen space became apart of the southwest 29th Street location, vastly cutting down on baking time to supply all five locations with cookies, scones and more.

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka’s Cat Café is just around the corner from hitting an impressive milestone all before celebrating their first birthday in the capital city. As of Friday, May 9, it’s connected 375 cats with new homes within 10 months of operation. One of the founders for the café originally hoped to home 10 cats per month. In reality, the business is seeing that number of adoptees every week. The Cat Café works directly with Team Kitten, a nonprofit foster based rescue in Topeka.

TOPEKA (KSNT) – One local volunteer-based organization is worried about their service availability going forward following funding cuts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). DOGE made cuts to AmeriCorps nationwide. The United Way of Kaw Valley said Kansas specifically is losing over $4.5 million in funding, and 375 staff members from these cuts.
