    DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) - An Alabama tradition will take to the skies on May 24th and 25th. The Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Classic is a free event featuring hot air balloon pilots from across the country. Organizers said the event requires a full year of planning each time to accommodate for thousands of visitors to Decatur. In 2024, the event hosted around an estimated 30,000 people, but organizers expect the total to be higher in 2025.

WAFF 48 crews on the scene Wednesday witnessed emotions and some hugs from family members rallying around a Madison County family who lost everything. Their home and workshop were destroyed by the storm. Debris from their home was scattered across the street. Community members have come together to support the family in their time of need.
