The Mustangs ended regulation in the game against Lee-Scott Academy of Auburn in a tie, 2-2. Lee-Scott struck first but Madison Academy’s Regan Boyd, who had three goals and an assist in the Mustangs’ semifinal win, tied the match three minutes later.

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — For the first time since 2013, and only the second time in program history, the Collinsville boys’ soccer team is bringing home the Class 1A/3A state title. The Panthers beat Tuscaloosa Academy 5-2 on Friday in the AHSAA Class 1A/3A Boys’ State Soccer Championship match. Championship game MVP Jefferson Acevedo scored the first goal of the game, and after that, the Panthers never lost the lead. Collinsville was able to stretch the lead to 4-0 early in the second half.

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — St. John Paul II Catholic High School girls’ soccer coach Samuel Bennett was able to breathe a sigh of relief on Friday. After three trips to the championship, SJPII won its first 4A girls’ soccer title. “We finally got one,” Bennett said. “I don’t know how to act.”The Falcons beat St. Luke’s Episcopal of Mobile on Friday, 3-1. It was also the program’s fourth trip to the state tournament.

    DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Over one month ago, a Morgan County judge ruled Former Decatur Police Officer Mac Marquette did not act in self-defense when he shot Stephen Perkins. Now, Marquette has appealed that decision. According to court records obtained by News 19, Marquette filed the appeal on Thursday and asked that the court stay all other proceedings until that is resolved.
