STAMFORD — Three men are facing various firearms charges after police discovered guns, ammunition and high-capacity magazines at a home on Hillside Avenue this month, officials said. According to police, after locating the firearms on Jan. 3, they obtained warrants to arrest Jayson Montoya, 19, and Cincere Stanley, 21, of Stamford, and Marquis Williams, 20, of Ansonia.

STAMFORD — Police are looking to identify three men suspected of stealing over $20,000 worth of merchandise from a local store. According to Stamford police, the men entered Engel's Fur on Bedford Street and stole the items around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. They then left the scene in a silver Ford pickup with a Florida license plate, police said. Police have released photos of the suspects and the pickup truck.

STAMFORD — Police say a 20-year-old man has been accused of sexually assaulting and impregnating a 13-year-old girl, according to the warrant for his arrest. Stamford police have charged Yeison Vasquez-Garza with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He appeared Thursday in state Superior Court in Stamford where a judge kept his bond at $200,000. Judicial records show he remained in custody on Friday.

Members of State Police Troop H in Hartford who served with Trooper Aaron Pelletier have created a fundraiser to help his family. State police said the fundraiser, found here, is the only one approved to help Pelletier's wife and two children. "As a Connecticut State Trooper, Aaron was a friend and brother who will be remembered for his easy smile, quick jokes, and willingness to train and teach new Troopers," organizers wrote in the fundraiser.

GROTON — An Indiana woman died Friday after the vehicle she in which she was riding had a mechanical failure and was struck from behind, according to state police. State police said the woman, 76-year-old Evelyn Diment was sitting in the back seat when the collision occurred. She was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, and was later pronounced dead, state police said.

NEW HAVEN — Officers were investigating a shooting involving a juvenile on Goffe Street on Friday evening, police said. They said the victim of the shooting was a juvenile who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Around 7 p.m., police said the investigation was underway near Goffe's intersection with County Street. SOUTHINGTON — Four dogs were rescued from a house fire on Friday morning and later reunited with their owners, according to fire officials. Officials said the department was dispatched to a home on Norton Street shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday and arrived to find smoke coming from the house. Firefighters located a fire in the rear of the home extending to the attic and began to suppress the flames while searching for anyone inside, officials said.

VERNON — Quick work by firefighters limited the damage from a fire at a Domino's restaurant on Windsor Avenue Friday afternoon, according to Assistant Fire Chief Robert Babcock. Babcock said that firefighters responded to Domino's just before 4 p.m. to investigate reports of a structure fire and found flames coming from the roof at the rear of the building. Domino's employees safely evacuated the building, Babcock said.
