Investigators released new details in the unsolved death of 13-year-old Iran Moreno Monday afternoon. Moreno was playing video games on Nov. 20, 2021, when a bullet pierced through his bedroom and killed him, according to the Pasadena Police Department. "You're at your house thinking you are safe as well and you can't be safe anywhere. This community, this city, is just too dangerous," family friend Maria Munguia said in 2021.

One person was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash in downtown Los Angeles Sunday night. The collision happened at roughly 7:35 p.m. near the intersection of 5th and Hill streets near Pershing Square, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police said the suspect was in a red Toyota vehicle. There was a protest in downtown on Sunday afternoon. At 4:34 p.m., the LAPD said on a post to X that demonstrators were marching westbound on 1st Street through Little Tokyo.

Spectrum customers in Los Angeles and Ventura experienced a temporary outage on Sunday after someone cut the company's fiber optic lines. The company is offering a $25,000 reward to find the suspect. It happened early Sunday morning in the Van Nuys neighborhood of LA. Spectrum said telecommunications lines have been a target for vandalism because of the precious metals some companies use. Spectrum fiber optic lines do not contain any copper, according to the company.

The Riverside Police Department is searching for the driver who crashed into a woman during a protest Saturday night. A large group of demonstrators was marching on University Avenue between Main and Orange streets at 9:10 p.m. when a speeding SUV drove around the march and struck a woman and drove away, according to police. Paramedics took the seriously injured woman to the hospital, where she remains in stable condition. A video of the collision shows protesters approaching the black SUV.
