Tropical Cyclone Jasper is expected to make landfall in less than 48 hours, somewhere between Cape Flattery and Cardwell, but its impact will be felt within 24 hours, the Deputy Premier says. Jasper has weakened to a category 1 system but the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting the storm to develop back into a category 2 by the time it reaches land.
