Leinster 16; La Rochelle 14
Forget the era of Leinster playing champagne rugby without cracking open the bubbly when it matters most - in champions cup finals.
The new Leinster is more considered with the Springbok influence behind the scene emphasizing how victory can be created with a slice more certainty if your defensive traits are better than all out attacking playing at every occasion.

TED Howell was 77 when he died last Friday. On Tuesday we buried him in Milltown Cemetery in the grave of the love of his life, Eileen Duffy. The two of them were devoted to each other. They were married on October 9, 1972. That night Ted was arrested.
Fortunately, his false ID held up and he was released the following morning. Eileen was a formidable republican also. She was a hard worker and a champion of West Belfast. Ted and she had two fine sons, Eamonn and Proinnsias.

The new Gaelic football playing rules being trialled in 2025 will have a grand opening on Jan. 25, with three big National Football league games fixed for that Saturday evening. With no pre-season competitions next year, supporters will have to wait until the last weekend in January to see the new rules which were passed in their entirety at the recent GAA Special Congress, operating in a competitive environment at inter-county level for the first time.

A Belfast artist's images of Ireland of old are striking a chord with Irish American art lovers in Prairie Country.
And now doctor-turned-painter Anna McKeever plans to bring a collection of her works to exhibit in the U.S. in 2025.
While some American buyers have visited Anna's South Belfast studio, the majority see her work online and get in touch to purchase a work or request a commission.

I was thrilled to accept an invitation from new friends and neighbors Lori and Mark to what turned out to be an international Thanksgiving. Celebrating with guests from other countries was a reminder that the U.S. is still a nation of immigrants whose work and arts make this country strong. I found it especially meaningful to sit down to dinner with people from countries like Germany, Poland and Portugal. Our host Lori’s family is from Italy and husband Mark’s ancestors from Israel.

On the last Sunday in July when thousands were climbing Croagh Patrick in my native County Mayo, the women of Nollaig na mBan NY and friends celebrated the Celtic fire festival of Lughnasa. Dedicated to bread, bounty and growth, Lughnasa traditionally marks the beginning of the harvest season. Croagh Patrick, (Patrick’s Stack) is known locally as “The Reek.” We think that the Sun god Lugh drew people upwards to pay attention to light and be guided by it.
