TIOGA BOROUGH, Pa (WENY) -- Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield are investigating the theft of a firearm from a shed on a property along Hopi Lane in Tioga Borough. According to the public release report, the theft occurred sometime between the end of January and the beginning of April 2025. The stolen firearm is described as a black and tan New Frontier Armory AR-15, .556 caliber, Model G4556, with a 12-inch barrel and serial number G400007.

CANISTEO, N.Y. (WENY) -- History buffs and curious minds alike will have a chance to step back in time this June during the annual Battle of Lain’s Mill Civil War Reenactment. The two-day event will take place on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th at Lain’s Cider Mill in Canisteo (6252 Lain Road). Hosted by the Lain Family and the 21st Georgia Infantry reenactment group, the weekend will offer a full experience of life during the Civil War.

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Bethany Lutheran Church in Elmira is celebrating a major milestone of 130 years of ministry in the community. The church was first established in 1895 by the Swedish branch of the Lutheran Church and started in a small home on Partridge Street. Today, it stands tall on South Walnut Street, where the main building was constructed in the late 1920s and has been expanded and updated through the decades. Bethany is known for much more than Sunday worship.
