Tucked away just outside Penn Yan, The Spotted Duck is more than just a roadside custard stand. It’s a family-run farm-to-cone operation that’s been serving up scoops with a story for nearly a decade. “We’ve been here for almost 10 years,” said owner Sam Solomon.

WOODHULL, N.Y. (WENY) -- One person was killed and another injured following a two-vehicle crash in Steuben County on Wednesday morning. According to New York State Police, the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on June 18 along State Route 417 in the town of Woodhull. Troopers say a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling northbound from a field and attempting to cross the road to access a nearby driveway.

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Drivers planning to travel on Interstate 86 eastbound through Broome and Tioga counties overnight this week should be prepared for a detour. The New York State Department of Transportation says I-86 eastbound will be closed overnight between Exit 65 (Owego) and Exit 67 (Endicott) from 9 p.m. Thursday, June 19, through 6 a.m. Friday, June 20, to allow for guiderail repairs. A signed detour will be in place.
