WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Several streets and roads in Sedgwick County are closed Wednesday morning according to the county’s interactive road closure map. That includes a stretch of North Broadway in Valley Center and 127th Street in east Wichita. The message from Sedgwick County following heavy rains and flooding on Tuesday is to avoid driving through any road barriers or roads that appear to be flooded. Firefighters carried out 119 water rescues between midnight and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The first stage of renovations at Wichita State’s Cessna Stadium have finished just in time for this weekend’s state track meet. Phase One primarily focused on the east side of the stadium, with new seating for 5,800 people, a ticket pavilion, renovated restrooms and a new plaza. WSU said Phase Two will start right after the all-class meet to minimize disruptions. The renovations will happen in four phases, and they have a price tag of nearly $20 million.
