Our study aimed to investigate the psychosocial situation and experiences of parents caring for a child affected by SMA after the introduction of new disease-modifying treatment options (Spinraza®, Zolgensma®). The results showed multiple sources of burden and negative consequences if a child is affected by SMA, not only for parental caregivers but also for the family as a whole.

Data from the pre-post-intervention study “Proactive automatized lifestyle intervention for cancer prevention: Pilot-test (PAL-Pilot)” were used [20]. The data protection officer and the ethics committee of the University Medicine Greifswald approved the study (BB 024/17; BB 024/17a). Over six consecutive weeks between May and July 2022, participants were systematically recruited at the University Medicine Hospital Greifswald in Germany.

AbstractFatigue affects patients across a variety of neurological diseases, including chronic pain syndromes such as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). In CRPS, fatigue is often underestimated, as the focus lies in the assessment and managing of pain and sensorimotor deficits. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence, characteristics, and influence of fatigue on CRPS severity and quality of life in these patients.

Baseline characteristics of the study population are described in Table 1. Stratification of participants in our discovery cohort KORA F4 for CHD association is displayed in Fig. 1. There were 982 individuals included in the fully-adjusted model of which 76 had CHD. Non-CHD participants were younger with a mean age of 58.7 years and comprised more women (53.2%), compared to participants with CHD who had a mean age of 64.8 years and comprised less women (31.6%).
