In the modern era, cardiologists managing patients and families with cardiomyopathies need to be familiar with every stage of the diagnostic pathway from clinical phenotyping to the prescription and interpretation of genetic tests. This clinical consensus statement from the ESC Council for Cardiovascular Genomics aims to promote the integration of genetic testing into routine cardiac care of patients with cardiomyopathies, as recommended in the 2023 ESC guidelines for cardiomyopathies.

Baseline characteristics of the study population are described in Table 1. Stratification of participants in our discovery cohort KORA F4 for CHD association is displayed in Fig. 1. There were 982 individuals included in the fully-adjusted model of which 76 had CHD. Non-CHD participants were younger with a mean age of 58.7 years and comprised more women (53.2%), compared to participants with CHD who had a mean age of 64.8 years and comprised less women (31.6%).

Die Zeit ohne regulären Kaufmännischen Direktor ist am Deutschen Herzzentrum München – Klinik an der Technischen Universität München – beendet. Zum 1. April hat Christian Bormann das Amt übernommen und damit die Nachfolge von Robert Siegert angetreten. Siegert war im Dezember 2023 in den Ruhestand verabschiedet worden.

We report a feasibility study performed to determine whether external quality assessment (EQA) programs can be used to obtain insights into the current harmonization status of the tumor markers α-fetoprotein (AFP), prostate specific antigen (PSA), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cancer antigen (CA)125, CA15-3 and CA19-9.
