HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCT) — The JH Rose Rampants find themselves in familiar territory making their third state title game in the last five years. Friday night’s opponent, the North Lincoln Knights, played game one of the North Carolina 3A State Baseball Championship. At the bottom of the third inning, the Knights led 1-0 with Ethan Simmons getting a base hit double to left field. This drove Josh Roberson to tie the game at 1-1.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Friends of Greenville Greenways (FROGGS) is asking for public input on bike racks. FROGGS wants to know where the community thinks new bike racks should go around the Greenville Greenway and in local parks. They’re encouraging community members to go to their Facebook page and leave a comment on their post about their opinion. A map of current bike racks and lanes is posted along with the inquiry.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCT) — The NC Wildlife Resources Commission is partnering with local centers across the state for National Fishing and Boating Week. The Fintastic Fishing Festival will be held in Fayetteville at the Pechmann Fishing Education Center on Saturday, June 7. The family friendly event will provide a full day of fishing fun, outdoor adventures and hands-on learning. There will be over twelve interactive exhibits.

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — The US Forest Service announced Thursday that the Black Swamp fire is 100% contained at 950 acres. Crews with the North Carolina Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife, North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission, National Park Service, USDA Forest Service and more have fully suppressed the fire. Dams, pumps, and canals were used to fully submerge and surround the area of the fire. Crews are now working to restore the site.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCT) — The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicle welcomed 80 new employees Thursday, after their annual graduation ceremony. The ceremony took place at the DMV headquarters and comes after the employees five week training program.
