Houston, TX-based Pappas Restaurants has been selected as the prevailing bidder during the auction of On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina. The transaction, subject to court approval, is expected to be finalized and close in the coming weeks. Dallas-based On The Border had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in early March. The company, which had closed 40 locations in February, cited higher costs and fewer people dining out.
