Hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, the competition is currently in its three-month session, where students are tasked with developing outside-of-the-box strategies for specific financial scenarios. Carlmont’s Associated Student Body (ASB) created the Positivity Commission in light of rising negativity. ASB’s advisor and activities director, Jim Kelly, made the executive decision to create the Positivity Commission during the 2024-25 school year. The commission aims to foster a more supportive campus and spread happiness in the face of adversity. “In today’s society, it is so easy for everything to be negative,” Kelly said.

Step 1.
To make the chocolate almond cream, cream the butter and sugar in a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, mixing until there are no lumps of butter remaining.
Gradually add the eggs, while continuing to mix until incorporated. Scrape down the side of the bowl as required.
Add the almond meal and cocoa powder and mix to combine.
Step 2.
Preheat the oven to 170°C fan-forced.
Combine the water and sugar in a saucepan over high heat and bring to the boil.
