The percentage of Wisconsin schoolchildren not receiving state-mandated vaccinations because of their parents’ personal beliefs is four times higher than it was a generation ago. That rise in personal conviction waivers has driven a decrease in all immunizations among Wisconsin children ahead of new measles outbreaks hitting the U.S. that are linked to three deaths.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WXCO) – A gold fish was recently found in the wild, so the DNR is reminding us of the risks of diseases these actions pose. The Wisconsin DNR says do not release pet fish into local waterways. “People are probably thinking I don’t really want to flush my goldfish or get rid of it, so I’ll just release it into the wild.” explained Erin McFarlane a Statewide Clean Boats, Clean Waters Educator with UWSP. “That goldfish isn’t naturally from Wisconsin. It’s not the best step to take.
