A man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting inside a South Philadelphia home late Thursday night. According to Philadelphia Police, the incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. on May 23 inside a residence on the 700 block of Tree Street, located just south of Snyder Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered three men had been shot.

On Sunday evening, May 19, a woman and a young girl were shot and killed in Philadelphia’s River Park neighborhood. The shooting happened around 6:08 p.m. on the 3900 block of Lankenau Avenue. Police officers arrived quickly after receiving reports of gunfire. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, when officers got to the scene, they found a woman who had been shot.

Early Sunday morning, on May 11, 2025, a 77-year-old man was shot in the face on the 3600 block of South Broad Street in South Philadelphia. The shooting happened around 5:43 a.m., according to the Philadelphia Police Department. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man injured with a gunshot wound to his face. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition. At this time, police have not made any arrests.

The national tour of Some Like It Hot, the award-winning Broadway musical, will be in Philadelphia from May 20 through June 1, 2025.
