GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Americans are expressing their concerns about retirement and social security, according to a new Lending Tree survey. The survey found that 59% of Americans have a fear that social security will run out and no longer be available to them upon retirement. According to Lending Tree, a lot of the concern is stemming from prices on consumer goods like groceries and homes, as well as the restarting of payments for federal student loans.

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Pitt County man is facing charges after he was found with a knife at a Pitt County elementary school, according to warrants obtained by WITN. Warrants say 34-year-old Nicholas Kilpatrick had a knife and spike knuckles on him at Ayden Elementary School on Friday, May 23rd.

(Greenville, NC) — On the days leading up to our Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, we’re continuing to bring you inspiring stories of patients who have been treated at the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital in Greenville. A very special young boy, 8-year-old Graylon Godard, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, the most common form of bone cancer, at the age of 7. He spent months in and out of surgeries, doctors’ visits, and physical therapy at the hospital and has overcome his cancer.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Though we’re seeing cooler temperatures this week, the summer months are still quickly approaching. Heat can be dangerous for anyone but warmer temperatures can pose additional challenges for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The Alzheimer’s Association says the disease causes a number of changes in the brain and body that may affect their safety, including changes in sensitivity to temperatures.
