The Williamsburg County Pee Dee Coalition is raising awareness in preventing child abuse and neglect. On April 3, a group met outside the Williamsburg County Courthouse to hear about the organization, statistics and other information. Afterwards, the group planted pinwheels along the median of Main Street, Kingstree. The pinwheel is the official symbol of child abuse and serves as a visual reminder of child abuse that occurs in our communities.

The HomeTown Chamber recently presented the Williamsburg County School District with the Image Award. The Image Award is presented to individuals, organizations and businesses who are members of Williamsburg HomeTown Chamber and who make a difference in their community through beautification and preservation of their property in Williamsburg County. The District has added a new fence at Kenneth Gardner Leadership Academy and is planning grounds projects that include shrubs and mulch.

“The greatest gift we can give to our children is an education,” said Kingstree Lions Club 2nd Vice District Governor, Janice Gamble before recognizing local artist, Kelise Gregory. Gregory is the Kingstree Lions Club winner of the 2025 Peace Poster contest. Her submission was selected for its originality, artistic merit, and portrayal of the contest theme, “Peace Without Limits.”Miss Gregory is a student of C.E. Murray Middle School. She received a certificate and a monetary gift from the club.
