A husband won’t be prosecuted in a brawl with his wife at a rental unit in The Villages. It was announced by the prosecutor’s office this past month that no information will be filed in the case of 63-year-old Louis Ronald Graf, who had been facing a felony charge of battery.

A Villager is facing a long difficult recovery after being knocked from a golf cart struck by a hit-and-run driver. Roseanna Diiuro suffered a traumatic brain injury, 14 broken ribs, a broken clavicle, a broken scapula, punctured lungs requiring chest tubes to drain the blood, and other extensive internal trauma in the hit-and-run crash that occurred March 31 in the Village of Hillsborough. Villager Noreen Nevrly, 75, is facing a felony charge of hit and run as a result of the crash.

A Villager jailed earlier this week in a raid at a notorious villa allegedly tried to set up a drug sale to raise money for his bond. Thomas McVay, 53, had been arrested Tuesday during a raid in the Escandido Villas after the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Squad and Criminal Investigations Division served a warrant at the villa at 1404 Azteca Loop, not far from Savannah Center.

This golf cart was parked in the handicapped accommodation zone at Ednas’ on the Green. Those zones are designated for the handicapped who need a little extra space to swing open doors or roll down ramps. Parking in those zones can make for an unnecessary obstacle for the handicapped. A Villager who has admitted to being a “dumpster diver” is in hot water over the trashy appearance of his home in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown. A code enforcement hearing was held Thursday morning before a special magistrate at Lady Lake Town Hall with regard to the property of Harold Crume at 709 Megan Circle on the Historic Side of The Villages. A complaint about the property was lodged this past July, prompting a visit from a code enforcement officer.
