SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Are you over winter? I know I am along with many Central New Yorkers north of Syracuse in Oswego County, flying a white flag to surrender as the lake effect snow band continues to pile up big numbers. The boon for skiers and snowmobilers has snarled vehicle traffic in spots to a standstill. As long as we have this bitter cold airmass pouring over Lake Ontario and into areas to the east and southeast there will be more snow to come.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The start of the work and school week includes a Weather Alert for parts of Central New York due to snow accumulation. While not heavy for most locations, a combination of falling temperatures, gusty winds, and snow piling up will make for dangerous travel conditions at times for some. Schools were off to a late start to the day because of the weather, with a two-hour delay in Holland Patent, located in northeastern Oneida County.
