MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police has awarded Muskegon County $318,812 in grants to help prevent youth gun violence. The grant money comes from the Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program through the U.S. Department of Justice. It will allow Trinity Health Muskegon to place three community health workers in Muskegon-area schools to work with at-risk youth through the SafERTeens program. SafERteens was originally introduced at Trinity Health Muskegon in 2023.
