EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — According to a source, the University of Evansville men’s basketball team will begin the 2025-26 regular season on November 4 at Purdue. The Purple Aces and Boilermakers have only met twice in the Division I era, last playing on December 3, 2005, in a 75-69 win for Evansville. Evansville men’s basketball will follow a second-straight, double-digit win campaign by beginning their regular season on the road at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette.

A source close to the team told Sports Director Michael Gross that the extension would keep the third-year head coach with the Purple Aces through the end of the 2029-30 season. Ragland was previously entering year four of his five-year deal this fall, which was signed back in 2022.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A local lifting team has won one of the toughest powerlifting meets in the country. The Pit Teenage Vipers, of the Pit Barbell Club, garnered the national championship title for the first time since 1987. Ten members, between the ages 14 and 17, competed in New Orleans last week. Six of them made the podium and two placed first in the country.
