    Update: U.S. Marshals have confirmed that Julian Reese has turned himself in and is in custody. CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The U.S. Marshals Service is requesting the public’s assistance in apprehending a suspect wanted in the North Central West Virginia area. Julian Christopher Reese, 21, is wanted out of Monongalia County for Malicious Wounding and Conspiracy, according to a marshals service press release.

    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — Members of the West Virginia Board of Education on Wednesday voted to pursue litigation challenging a law recently passed by the state Legislature giving that body oversight of the board's policies. "I move that the Board pursue litigation to contest the constitutionality of House Bill 2755 regarding the Board's independent policymaking authority," board member Debra Sullivan said in her motion. The motion was seconded and then passed on a voice vote.

    WESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — A temporary closure of Interstate 79 southbound in Lewis County will take place Monday night into Tuesday morning. The closure will be in place at mile marker 96 from 10 p.m. Monday to 2 a.m. Tuesday in order to erect a pair of steel beams on a bridge. During that time, traffic will be directed off I-79 at exit 96, routed to U.S. 19 South and returned to I-79 at exit 91.

    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner is reminding residents of a slate of municipal elections set to take place next month. More than 100 municipal elections were scheduled to be held this year. While dates vary, with some elections having already taken place, most elections will be held on either June 3 or June 10. A listing of the year's municipal elections is available on the Secretary of State's website.
