For the first time since the 1990s, Stonehenge Golf & Country Club is fully in control of its own destiny. The private, member-owned club at 1000 Furnham Drive in Chesterfield County recently brought its day-to-day management back in-house after breaking away from third-party golf course management giant Invited Clubs. The move, which received overwhelming member support in a vote, means that all business decisions related to the club are now handled by its board of directors and general manager.

After starting his wealth management practice in Richmond 38 years ago, Jeff Miller recently made a move he never expected to make. His West End firm Miller Financial Services became part of Bleakley Financial Group this spring, through an acquisition that gives Bleakley its first foothold in the competitive Richmond financial advisory market. It would be the bank’s first new branch in the city since it closed its downtown outpost at 1111 E. Main St. in the office tower that bears its name last year.

Richmond’s biggest commercial real estate brokerage has taken a big step in its ongoing leadership succession plan. Thalhimer last week hoisted Eric Robison into the role of president, a title he takes from longtime leader Lee Warfield, who continues as chief executive officer. Warfield had held the dual CEO-and-president role for nearly a decade and said relinquishing the latter to Robison is part of a gradual, years-in-the-making plan for the 530-person firm.
