Rain put the kibosh on Friday’s scheduled nightcap, meaning the Red Sox and Orioles will prepare for another separate-admission doubleheader Saturday. Tickets for Friday night’s game will be valid for Saturday’s first game, which will start at 1:05 p.m. The second game was pushed back and will now start at 6:35 p.m.The teams have not announced pitching matchups for Saturday.

Alex Bregman, the Red Sox’ most valuable all-around player, left the first game of Friday’s doubleheader with an injury that occurred while running out a fifth-inning single. Bregman looked to have incurred the injury while putting on the brakes after rounding first base as left fielder Ryan O’Hearn fired Bregman’s ball off the Wall back to the infield. Bregman had a slight hobble as he returned to the first base bag, then he immediately pointed to the dugout to signal he needed to be replaced.
