CORNELIUS, N.C. (WBTV) - Cornelius police hope the first ever age-progression photo of missing Cornelius girl Madalina Cojocari will spark new interest in the case. The photo was released on her 14th birthday, April 13. Madalina went missing when she was 11-years-old in November 2022. She was last seen publicly getting off a school bus on her way home from school. Last year, Cornelius police named Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, a suspect in her disappearance.

ROCK HILL, N.C. (WBTV) - The Carolinas rank as two of the states with a higher risk of animal collisions for 2025, based on data from State Farm. The insurance company said North Carolina ranks 12th for likelihood of an animal involved claim. South Carolina ranks 13th, their data shows. A Rock Hill woman died Tuesday night on I-77 after her car struck a deer around 10:30 p.m. near Highway 161, troopers said. Chris Arcudi is a longtime auto body repairman, who owns Dents and Dings LLC in Rock Hill.

Jayla Gittens said it happened as she was moving out of the Alta Croft apartment complex in North Charlotte. Her dog, Julio, was in her 2022 Honda Civic as she was going back and forth from her apartment, loading up her car.
