The Audi RS3 is a bit of an oddball. It has 401 hp under the hood, a serious number for a car weighing around 3600 pounds. But that power comes from the last five-cylinder engine on the market, making it an internal-combustion unicorn. Plus it has wider tires in front than rear, and a torque-splitting differential on the back axle. The kind of stuff car nerds love to geek out about, the automotive equivalent of Dad Rock.

"The ZR1's always been king of the hill," says Tadge Juechter. "This car, I think it embraces that pretty well." That’s a bit of an understatement from the recently retired Corvette executive chief engineer, as the 2025 Corvette ZR1 ties a 1,064-horsepower bow on Juechter's legendary career. There are more astonishing numbers to go with the four-figure horsepower output. 838 pound-feet of torque. A sub-10-second quarter-mile at 150 miles per hour.

July 19, 2024 at 12:07 PMHow Fernando Alonso made the Valiant HappenAston MartiinFor most of us, getting a one-of-110 car is special enough. Fernando Alonso is not most of us. When Aston Martin offered a new Valour model to its F1 driver, he suggested some changes. One thing led to another, which led to christening the new, even more exclusive Valiant with a production run of 38 units – one for each of Alonso’s F1 wins.

It turns out the $10,000 pickup truck is actually too good to be true. But only by a little bit. The production version of the Toyota IMV 0 concept, now known as the Hilux Champ in Thailand, starts at 459,000 Thai Baht, or just over $13,000 at the current exchange rate. On the one hand, that’s 30 percent higher than the price we heard from Toyota engineers during a brief test drive in Japan.

No screens, no radio. Heck, it doesn’t even have a tachometer. The Toyota IMV 0 is like other modern cars in that it doesn’t have many switches on the interior, but in this case, it’s because there’s almost nothing to turn on and off. Based on the same platform as the Hilux, Toyota’s global market pickup, the IMV 0 starts as a blank template of four wheels, flatbed, and two-door cab.
