The campaign manager for an Alabama candidate for lieutenant governor made an unusual request Tuesday, asking that the news media always include the candidate’s academic title in news coverage about the race. Nicole Wadsworth, a commercial real estate developer, announced in May she is running in the Republican primary. Her campaign manager, Hunter Weathers, sent an email to the press about their reporting on the campaign.

AshLeigh Meyer Dunham, an attorney who specializes in helping families who are seeking services for infertility, is running for the Alabama Supreme Court. Dunham is owner of Magic City Fertility Law. She is also a referee in Jefferson County Family Court. Court referees conduct hearings and make recommendations to a judge. Dunham and her husband are the parents of a daughter born through in vitro fertilization.

Pendergrass, 40, is seeking the Republican nomination for the office, which is responsible for keeping track of property and equipment purchased and used by state agencies. It is an open seat because State Auditor Andrew Sorrell is running for secretary of state.

Ken McFeeters, who ran for Congress in 2024 and is a past president of the Mid-Alabama Republican Club, announced Tuesday that he is running for the Republican nomination for governor. McFeeters, 65, lives in Pelham and runs an insurance agency that he founded with his brother in 1981. He is the second Republican candidate to enter the race, following Sen. Tommy Tuberville. “The question we must ask ourselves is this,” McFeeters said in a press release.

Case Dixon, a 25-year-old husband, father, and physical therapist assistant, has announced a run for the Republican nomination in Alabama’s 6th Congressional District. Dixon said Republicans in Washington are not living up to their claim as the party of reduced spending and smaller government. “They’re not actually addressing the debt,” Dixon said.
