The Lady Tornadoes swept a District 14A doubleheader from outmanned LC at Hawks-Eddlemon Field, claiming mercy-rule wins of 17-2 and 11-0. UC improved to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in league play with the two convincing romps.

More than 125 children registered for both Kindergarten and PreK at Union City Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year yesterday, with those numbers expected to rise even higher before the new school year begins.

The Tornado boys – bolstered six individual first-place finishes and a pair of winning relay finishes – totaled 151 points. Dyer County was a distant second with 69. The order was the same in the girls’ competition as UC was first (126 points) and DC runner-up (81).

Many were recently on display for Union City Middle School 8th graders as they attended the annual Pathways2Possibilities Career Expo in Ripley. UCMS students incorporated their year-long curriculum from Rhonda Clendenin’s Career Exploration Class to make the tour event more valuable.
