UCHS students spent the day at DPA during the park’s 2025 Military Expo. Military history and current TNARNG soldiers were part of the day’s activities, and students were also informed of career opportunities in the Tennessee Army National Guard.

More than 125 children registered for both Kindergarten and PreK at Union City Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year yesterday, with those numbers expected to rise even higher before the new school year begins.

The Tornado boys – bolstered six individual first-place finishes and a pair of winning relay finishes – totaled 151 points. Dyer County was a distant second with 69. The order was the same in the girls’ competition as UC was first (126 points) and DC runner-up (81).

The Tornado teams celebrated the crowning of senior guard Kennedi Robinson as 2025 Basketball Queen with a pair of double-digit wins over Greenfield Friday night at Marty Sisco Gymnasium. Down by nine points midway through the second quarter, UC’s girls rode an impressive 34-7 run to a 49-32 triumph over the eighth-ranked Lady ‘Jackets in Game 1.
