Lincoln county commissioners during their most regular meeting were provided an update by Emergency Management on the destruction and the number of acres burned in the county during the recent wildfire outbreak. EM Director Charlotte Brown advised the commissioners there were six fires going on at the same time in the county on Friday, March 14. She told them the Merrick fire burned more than 5,100 acres and over 6,000 acres have burned in the county since the fires broke out.

A man from Harrah and a woman from McLoud face multiple sex crimes and the man’s attempt to have his bond reduced has been denied. Formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 27, 2025, are Brandon Lee Morris, 26 and Trisha Nicole Franks, 27. Morris faces six felonies and Franks is charged with three felonies. Bond for Morris has been set at $250,000 and Franks’ bond is $50,000.

A 59-year-old man facing multiple charges for alleged sex crimes against minors in two different cases has been set for a felony disposition docket and jury trial in one of the cases. Mark Leon Miller, Sr., of Midwest City, appeared before District Judge Sarah Bridge March 25 on formal charges filed against him on Aug. 15, 2024 in Lincoln County District Court. They included enabling child sexual abuse, enabling child sexual exploitation and child neglect.

Body A Tulsa man previously convicted of at least six felonies faces two felonies and two misdemeanors filed against him recently in Lincoln County. John Samuel Paul Dylan Tiffie, 31, was formally charged in Lincoln County District on March 6, 2025 with two felonies. Those include possession of firearm after former felony conviction and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. The two misdemeanors against him are two counts of possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

Body A $10,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of man who has a previous conviction for a similar charge. Damien Cocca, 40, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on March 14, 2025 with domestic assault and battery by strangulation. The bench warrant for his arrest was issued the same day. He is accused on Feb. 21, 2025 with the felony by intentionally and willfully strangling or attempting to strangle his ex-wife by choking her.
