ELNORA – Brody Shots two-out, RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in Henry Holka with the winning run as a young Vincennes Rivet squad ruined the final home game for a veteran North Daviess team, 7-6 in the championship game of Sectional 62 on Monday. Shots’ double to centerfield made Zane Sample the tough luck loser for North Daviess (14-12-1) after Sample had relieved Cougar starter Caleb Miller with ND trailing Rivet (17-6) 5-3 two outs into the bottom of the third.

ELNORA – North Daviess used the four-hit pitching of Tyler Stoll and Zayne Sample and some timely hitting to defeat Loogootee 6-2 at Wayne Davis Field on Friday to advance to the championship game of Sectional 62. Stoll started and pitched into the sixth inning for North Daviess (14-11-1), allowing just two runs while giving up four hits and striking out six.

HUNTINGBURG — Washington made the big plays down the stretch and avenged an early season loss to Southridge as the Hatchets defeated the Raiders 51-47 at Memorial Gymnasium on Friday. In reversing a December loss, Washington (17-7) controlled the fourth quarter 14-7 as Southridge (20-3) committed turnover after turnover in the final eight minutes, including six turnovers in all in the quarter and three crucial turnovers in the final :46 of action.
