    The Washington Hatchets opened the 31st Tom Miles Invitational with a solid Sullivan team on Saturday under perfect weather conditions at the Sports Complex. WHS downed Sullivan in the first game 15-5 and lost to Silver Creek, 21-2 in the afternoon game. Although the game had early shifts in momentum, and WHS was down 4-1 at one point, WHS outscored Sullivan 14-1 the rest of the way for a 15-5 game in 4 1/12 innings.

    There are a few columns that tend to get recycled over the course of several years and always seem to make an appearance when things get a little slow. Class basketball conflict has drifted away, as the last people who participated in non-class basketball are nearly 45 and unless you spend time arguing with clouds on your porch, most people think it worked out pretty well. The NIL transfer portal debate may still have a little life in it for a few more years.
