By Chuck Barnett, Mike Purdy, Gordon Clawson and Craig Walker I write today to raise additional issues relative to the Ventura County Parks Departments proposal for an overnight campground at Soule Park. Historically, the park gate is closed around dusk and opened in the morning. During the night, there is presently very little or no lighting. This would all change with the incorporation of camping. Traffic would be 24 hours a day and night lighting would abound.

Primaries were a bit slow Tuesday morning, but that didn't stop the democratic process from beginning in full swing. Local campaigners stood in the chilly air at the Kent Library Branch to help convince people of their specific candidates. Gloves and hat accompanied Oscar Hill, of West Toledo, who was out campaigner for Paula Hicks-Hudson, a former Toledo Mayor and Ohio Senator who is now running for Lucas County Commissioner. "I've been doing this for her for the last 12 years," he said.

COLUMBUS — During this year’s Division III girls soccer tournament, the Ottawa Glandorf Titans have seen a lot of familiar foes. In the state semifinal, they faced Akron Manchester; the team they defeated last year at the same junction of the tournament and Friday night at Historic Crew Stadium, the Titans matched up with the Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks, the team that defeated them in the championship match last year.
